Since the 2000s, the Cologne-based band Klauen has been developing its own take on electro-post-punk under various lineups and names. Starting as a duo called ELECTRIC BEATNIKS, they later expanded into a four-piece band, renamed themselves KLAUEN, and then returned to a duo to focus on what matters most: their manic, ecstatic, danceable songs—mostly about how shitty things are. They hate, but they also love. And they steal just enough that no one notices.
